The cost of implementing a certified EHR is higher. Also, as the information in EHR is stored electronically ,the older paper based data's need to be entered into the new system. So this might require hiring of people which increases the budget.
• The crucial information related to individuals health has to be entered into an electronic system accurately and consistently .So ,storing the information into the systems is a major concern as human error can exists. Also lack of system training often lead to data entry errors.
•Despite of the advancement in the field of technology there is more threat to the privacy and confidential information of individuals for both the health providers and the consumers.
•The healthcare environment is occupied with cultures, subcultures, and traditions and the implementation of an EHR can be disruptive to the socio-cultural system.

 When the system is digitized then the quality of care might decrease as a clinician requires to focus on the online data
 which will result in user resistance to adopt the system.
 EHR interfaces must be easy to learn and use, capture data with minimal intrusion during a patient visit,
 and provide information in ways that are intuitive to the user.
 The teams especially clinical team needs to have a basic change in belief in order to accomplish the goals promised by EHR .
 States will need to be encouraged to develop and maintain public health reporting requirements
 linked to EHRs as well as to develop regional networks for information exchange.
