The Beginning Of A Change Bacon’s Rebellion was the start of a change. It was an early showing of the revolutionary change that would take place nearly a hundred years later referencing to the American Revolution. Bacon’s Rebellion was important because it showed the early desire of Democracy among the Colonial Americans’ in the House of Burgesses. Nathaniel Bacon and governor William Berkeley did not always have a troublesome relationship. They were actually cousins due to Berkeley’s marriage to Bacon’s cousin.
The Government published the Clean Air and Water Acts under President Richard Nixon’s administration. Signed by Nixon in 1970, the main goal of this act was to ensure that air quality would be healthy and sustainable throughout the United States to furthermore eradicate any immediate sense of pollution and climate change. The protection of environment is crucial to the wellbeing of this planet. The job of government is to protect and preserve the land on which its people live. However, there is a bill being considered that completely goes against this, one that calls for the eradication of the Environmental Protection Agency, a government program created to protect human and environmental wellbeing through their regulation of laws. I urge you to oppose bill H.R. 861 - the termination of the Environmental Protection Agency - because of the ways that the EPA protects air, water, and land.

Leydier & Martin (2013) also states that, “despite the increasing expression of concern in political and media debates about issues such as climate change, pollution and threats to biodiversity, “political ecology” (operating at the confluence of scientific developments, political engagement and ethical debates) is still trying to find its bearings” (p.7).
