The technologies in “A Sound of Thunder” include; the time travel machine with its abilities to travel back in time and the antigravity path the hunters walked
Eckles was shot and killed during the Time Safari Hunt. He was in the office of Time Safari Inc. when it happened. He was shot by Travis because he stepped off of the trail. Eckles was warned before going on this hunt that if he did certain things he would not be coming back. One of those things happened to be stepping off of the trail.
In the short story, “A sound of Thunder”, Ray Bradbury used figurative language to make a bigger impact on the story. When Eckels goes into the office he sees and hears, “... A sound like a gigantic bonfire burning all of Time, all the years and all the parchment calendars- all the hours piled high and set aflame.” The author, Ray Bradbury, wanted his audience to have a specific image set in the audience’s head. By using a simile he help the reader imagine how Eckle’s is going to get to the past.
It is a Fictional story with some factual matter. You can obviously not time travel yet but if someone had made a mistake in the past to it would "Change the course of history" as Eckels said. In "A Sound of Thunder" he
The theme of Ray Bradbury's "A Sound of Thunder" is enhanced by his use of foreshadowing throughout the story. The story follows a man named Eckles on his journey to the past on a hunt for a real dinosaur. As the events in the past unfold, Eckles ultimately alters the future forever by taking a small step off the Path. The path is there to make sure the time travelers do not affect the future. Unfortunately, Eckles learns the true consequences of his actions when he returns to a changed future.
Storms are used in plots to represent a variety of things, but generally show a changing of perspective and allows for a revelation. True to form this is when David becomes the “hero” he is meant to be and finds out Elijah’s villainous scheme. The rain is used as a progressive set to push the hero into self-awareness of what's going on around him. David’s journey ultimately sets polarity between the characterization between hero and monster, since the journey always surrounds the hero in test of morality and heroism and the villain is in the background and
Although both Michael Crichton, author of Jurassic Park, and Ray Bradbury, author of A Sound of Thunder, use foreshadowing, A Sound of Thunder creates more suspense for readers. Both are excellent, but Bradbury uses outstanding diction to emphasize the importance of certain events in the plot. While the pair of stories are equally well written, A Sound of Thunder uses it's foreshadowing to allure readers into continuing the short story. In A Sound of Thunder, there are many instances of suspenseful foreshadowing.
Sound is being used to create or sense the mood for the audience. For example, when Kim’s father is outside, diegetic sound is used so the characters hear the baseball game playing in the background which makes the situation exciting for the audience. Edward finishes trimming a bush (the dinosaur) and everyone is amazed. This can appear to create a dramatic and happy effect for the audience. The sound then crescendos to make it seem as if Edward is being cheered on by the crowd.
The effect is that kids are squeezing together waiting for the sun to come out. Also there’s this girl named margot who experience the sun and that’s make her everyone different from everyone else. William blamed margot about the sun. They joined william and got margot and locked her in the closet. After later in the passage The rain stopped everyone disappointed about what happened they thought the sun was going to come out.

In Frankenstein, on Victor’s way home after being away for six years, a key moment in the novel that weather sets the mood is when “It echoed from Saleve, the Juras, and the Alps of Savoy; vivid flashes of light dazzled my eyes, illuminating the lake making it appear like a vast sheet of fire; then for an instant, everything seemed of pitchy darkness, until the eye recovered from the preceding flash” (Shelley 50). The author, Shelley uses weather to describe the murder of his young brother, William. The weather conditions effect Victor’s mood and convey his emotional feelings of Victor as being scared, sad, or depressed. As one wise time traveller once said “People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually ... it 's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly... time-y wimey... stuff” (Doctor Who S3E10). While this isn’t the most eloquent or scientific quote, it makes the audience think about how they view time and their life. While today society accepts time as a linear concept, this was not always the norm. William Shakespeare lived in an era of change and revolution.
The setting “sets the stage” for all the events that will happen throughout the story. The theme of “A Sound of Thunder” is something small can have a big impact. In other words, one small action can have big consequences. Throughout the whole story, the setting allows the theme to build. When Travis, Eckels, and the other men first arrive in the past Travis is warning them of the consequences that could come if they step off the path and enter the jungle.
Time’s Arrow and Slaughterhouse-Five are both novels with an unconventional approach. By defying the expectation that such writing ought to be sombre, they deliver their own brand of mourning. Vonnegut interweaves the horrors of war with the seemingly trivial and absurd to create greater impact. The language, which is so often blunt and direct to the point of vulgarity, takes on a different character in the darker moments. It is transformed into something more childlike and delicate, suddenly capable of conveying the aftermath of a massacre with simple respect.
