Eden and Gethsemane: The gardens of choices between man’s will and God’s will
Two gardens, Eden and Gethsemane, provided the settings for two choices that brought opposite results:
• Eternal condemnation (Eden) and
• Redemption (Gethsemane)
Every day, we walk in the gardens of decision. The two choices in two gardens give us reasons to consider our own decisions today:
• Like Adam in the Garden of Eden, we can compromise God’s Word in favour of what we think or feel—and live with overwhelming regret and condemnation.
• Like Jesus in Gethsemane, we can take God at His Word—even when it costs us dearly—knowing the Father makes the potential worth the sacrifice. Our choices can produce good beyond imagination.
Genesis 2:16-17 NIV:

He sinned by eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that God commanded him not to eat. His choice to commit sin brought condemnation to everyone.
In the garden of Gethsemane, Christ’s decision to die for our sins provided justification and redemption to everyone.
Romans 5:18:
18, Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation (Adam in Eden) for all people, so also one righteous act (Jesus in Getshemane) resulted in justification and life for all people.”
