Edgar Allan Poe was found unconscious in Baltimore on September 28, 1849. He died on October 7th. There are many mysteries surrounding his death, many seem outrageous or even impossible, but we will get back to that later. Easly the most believable theory is that he had rabbies. Rabbies is not a particularly rare disordor, yet for the following reasons poe excerted symptoms of rabbies making it the prime cause of death. Theese symptoms and their evidence are, Hydrophobia or fear of water, this is shown as according to the doctors he refused alcohol and only accepted water with great difficulty. Delerium is another common symptom of rabies. So as the doctors recall poe had been in a state of confusion followed by states of aggression and calmness. Body malfunction, or known as irregulated body functions and other symptoms. Poe was found unccounscious and was then transported to a hospital. Appon awakening he was found to have tremmors, a fever, and he was heavily persperating. He ofcourse then went into a coma. Theese strange health patterns are all seen in people with late stage or stage 4 rabies.
Now that it is clerified how he died we go on to how he obviously didnt die and the death that was challenged by this theory. Dipsomania, or alcohol withdrawl. He had some symptoms of dipsomania such as hallucinations and dilierium however he wouldn't have been able to resist the cravings for the alcohol he was offered in the hospital. He also would of had more symptoms along the lines of paranoia and he would of excerted a state of anxiety and stress. However as covered with his mood swings he constantly went from mood to mood and from behaivor to behaivor.
