As a cybersecurity professional, I believe that effective communication is one of the most important skills I can possess in this field. Cybersecurity involves protecting sensitive information and systems from cyberattacks and other threats, and it is essential that we clearly and effectively communicate these risks to those who are responsible for making decisions about security. In this essay, I will explain why communication is so important in cybersecurity, what I have learned throughout this course, and why I have made it a priority to develop my own communication skills and what I can improve on.

I find that I bring three crucial elements to the table as a professional: Honesty, Clarity, and Understanding. Honesty because integrity is a core value of who I am as a person. People deserve the truth in all forms even if it would put me in a bad situation. Honesty is directly related to having authenticity. Clarity signifies my ability to communicate clearly with others. In turn, I offer the ability to listen and understand others. Cybersecurity professionals must work with a range of stakeholders, including information technology professionals, business managers, and end-users, to ensure that sensitive information and systems are protected.
