Leadership is a form of art and science. There are various strings attached to this term that turn into actions and influences. One of the most influential leadership organizations are those men and women who serve the United States within military forces. Every person in this organization has some sort of leadership role that is critical and influential to the force. One of the biggest challenges that good leaders face is the encounter with another good leader.
Leadership is the ability of one to organize or lead a group of people. A leader should be respectful, a leader is bound to know what goal is attempted to be reached. My favorite leadership quote is by Chris Hadfield, “Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It 's about keeping yourself and people around you focused on a goal and motivated to do the best to achieve goals in life, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences matter greatly. It is about laying the groundwork for others ' success, and finally standing back and letting them shine.”
1. Leadership, according to the Coast Guard, is influencing others to achieve a goal. This is a simple definition that explains a highly complex idea in an extremely basic form. The differences between good and bad leadership is not given, instead the reader of this short definition is left with the inclination that as long as a given goal was completed then leadership must have occurred. A tyrant however, can influence people to accomplish goals through intimidation but that is not an example of good leadership.

Leader Competencies are leadership skills and behaviors that contribute to superior performance. Leaders outdated skills and behaviors encouraged change over many years. The three main categories of competences are to Lead, Develop, and Achieve. Army leaders serve to lead others, develop themselves, environment and profession as a whole, and to also achieve organizational goals. In order for an Army leader to lead they must apply the attributes to guide Soldiers towards a common goal and mission accomplishments.

Leaders help others achieve their highest potential.” Leadership has been described as “influence, that is, the art or process of influencing people so they may strive willingly and enthusiastically toward the achievement of group goals.” (Weihrich and Koontz, 2005) As stated in the Online Journal of Issues in Nursing, ‘Qualities of a Good Leader” “The qualities of a good leader includes, having a structural framework, making sound and timely decision.
The Impact of Leadership Styles on the Organizational Culture ABSTRACT: This research examines the influence of leadership styles on the organizational culture. The questionnaires are applied by stratified sampling method to the workers (N=156) of the factory, which operates in the production sector and IBM SPSS 23 program is used for analyzing the data. Leaders must apply the Army Values when leading soldiers because of the fact that it builds trust and a bond. The same goes for the soldiers, in order for them both to work as an effective team and to get the mission done efficiently they both must live by these values. Once these values are integrated in a soldier’s lifestyle, it becomes too easy to work as a unit. An example on how loyalty and respect fits in a day to day to situation would be, a soldier witnessing a misunderstanding with his or her team leader and a higher ranking NCO, the soldier knows that his or her team leader is in the right. The soldier shows loyalty by standing by their team leader and shows respect by approaching both their team leader and the higher ranking NCO with tact to explain the situation from their understanding and what they witnessed.
Leadership Concept: Leadership is the ability to influence the behavior of the members of the group and coordinate their efforts and guide them to reach the desired goals. From the concept of leadership we can see that leadership consists of three basic elements: 1 A group of individuals working in a particular organization. 2. A leader of the group is able to influence and guide their behavior. 3
Leadership in the Army is the fundamental foundation of the organization. Leaders like Officers and Non- Commission Officers implement and set the standard of leader to soldiers. These leaders ensure the Army soldiers are trained and prepare for any hardships they face. The term Leadership can be defined differently based on the organization in which the term is applied to. In the Army Leadership can be described as a "characterized by a complex mix of organizational, situational, and mission demands on a leader who applies personal qualities, abilities, and experiences to exert influence on the organization, its people, the situation, and the unfolding mission" (ADP 6-22).
Military leadership is the process of influencing others to accomplish the mission by providing purpose, direction, and motivation. Another significant aspect of emphasized by the army is charisma. Therefore, army strategy to have a great leader is to choose people with high charisma since follower are always drawn to leaders with charisma. By having a high charisma they can command the follower easily. The basic task of a leader are: achieve the mission with zero fatality.
