The Most Effective Responses to Inequality Inequality or injustice has the same meaning when it comes to African American community who knows too well of its true meaning. Injustice impacts African American communities in negative ways, with the legal system, educational institution and red lining by zip codes. From P. T. S. S. to the non-payment of reparations promised, including an unbalanced justice systems that leads to mass incarceration for African American, to a non-caring education school system. Injustice has plagued a race of people that continue to experience it daily. In Dr. Joy Degruy book “Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome” trauma and ever present anger was a big factor that has been left unaddressed in society. The Jim Crow local and state laws were the apartheid for America to allow, and keep the racism alive against African Americans, while this practice was legal, but morally wrong. In an article by Ta-Nehisi Coates, called “In the Case for Reparations” Coates showed how things really did not change even though people had migrated from the south, to the Midwest and northern states. The practices to still do injustice to a race of people that had nothing to do with their skills, only their skin color. The lending and insurance companies had a practice that they applied only to the African American people called red lining. That automatic means they paid more or double the value cost. When trying to move in different location throughout the cities or obtain a home or car insurance. There was normally a broker that the lending company would refer the interested new home buys too. This middle man would charge double and in the event you missed one payment, you were evicted, and a new family came in and the payments started all over again.
