In the poem "Sonnet 43" Elizabeth Barrett Browning uses the theme of love to express her feelings about her husband, Robert Browning. Elizabeth found her husband Robert Browning love outstanding for each other. Knowing their love was forbidden for each other, Robert and Elizabeth still got married. Through Elizabeth father didn't approve, Elizabeth and Robert took it upon themselves to get married "secretly".
