The four laws I thought were really interesting to process through. They had so many different concepts. The one thing I enjoyed was the first law and how it said that God does not think the economy is a bad thing. Even though so many times people will think God’s opinion is a certain way, however, we do not know how God truly feels. Along with this and the idea on how Jesus recruits people to help the kingdom grow was that he wants for us to step out of our comfort zone.
He believes that good expositional preaching will create pervasive knowledge of the essential truths of scripture that stimulate godly living. Dever argues that expositional preaching is the first and most important mark of a
I viewed the book as a straightforward description of Dr. Proctor’s dialectic method of sermon preparation, organization and delivery that could be useful not only for the seminary student but also for the hard working preacher, teacher, or evangelist who will never attend
The summary must be no less than ten-twelve sentences long; two paragraphs. You need to use evidence to support your claims; therefore, be sure to use quotes from the sermon to use as your evidence. Your summary should be typed directly on this document and sent in by the due date. All work should be proofread. Jonathan Edwards, writer of the
12/4/17 BIBL Eat This Book Summary For the special project I chose to read the book “Eat This Book” by Eugene Peterson and throughout reading this book I found it to be interesting on the topic he chose to talk about. But before I go off into what I found interesting about the book and what I gained or learned from after reading this, let go back and explain what this book is about, and the main topic is throughout this book. In the book author Eugene Peterson believes that the way we read the bible is just as important as the fact that we even read the bible to begin with and even goes on to say in the book “Do we read the Bible for information about God and salvation, for principles and ‘truths’ that we can use to live better?
Study questions are also provided at the end of each chapter, which allow the reader the opportunity to think deeper about the subject and encourage further study in the Word of God. The questions could also be used as a guide for discussion during a Bible study. The Endnotes included at the end of the book give some additional background information that I found to be helpful as well. In reading this book, I definitely learned some new things. For example, Combs writing indicates that in the Bible Adam’s wife is not referred to as “Eve” until the end of Genesis Chapter 3 (after they ate the forbidden fruit), and the word “sin” is not used until Genesis Chapter 4 in
Those individuals who have hit rock bottom or are in the pits of despair, truly need to not only hear the Word of God, but also need to learn how to apply the Bible to their lives. Connecting to these individuals is not only about teaching God’s Word, but also being a reflection of him. Exemplifying God’s love to them and

I. Observation Step One: Choose a person to study. For this character-sketch Bible study I will be studying: Boaz Step Two: Identify and list all the Bible passages
History learned through the perspective of a biblical lens will be a refreshing and enlightening change in my post-secondary academic life. The concentration of American and European studies has been a favorite of mine throughout my undergraduate and now my professional career. This focus has provided me with insight into the modern world we live in and helped to shape my perspective as a contemporary student of history
In Thomas Long’s The Witness of Preaching, he aims to urge the reader to become a reliable witness of the gospel by way of ample preparation before entering a pulpit. The text offers to the reader a deeper understanding of the ministry of preaching. A useful component of the text contains informative bits of information that make the reader aware of the lengthy but necessary preparation needed for an adequate explanation of the scripture. Of primary importance is the consideration of the congregation when a preacher is first approaching the text. This point is of vital importance as it signifies that the speaker is a member of the body of Christ and the congregation.
Hector Berlioz Hector Berlioz was an interesting composer. He was born on December 11th, 1803 and passed away on March 8th, 1869. Berlioz was a french composer who liked to write about romantic things.
Therefore, most verses should be studied through the life and ministry of Jesus as written about in the four gospels and the rest of the New Testament. (I call it reading the Bible with my Jesus glasses on.) This above would all be for coaching the group leader and then I would ask them to get practical with the group participant so that they could get to understand why the participant interpreted the scripture in such a manner. I would encourage them to do some study together and even read some church doctrine about divine revelation—such as chapter four in Olsen’s book The Mosaic of Christian Belief.
In this essay i will be providing examples from scripture that show God is teaching people and people are teaching each other. One example that i can think of at the moment is "honor thy father and mother..." God is teaching us that we need to respect our parents, and from a very young age our parents teach us how to honor them. In The Book of Proverbs it says " Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding..." There is multiple people that you run into and ask for advice, some will give you just advice and other will give the advice and add on by saying to trust in God.
The filling of the Holy Spirit has intrigued me for quite some time as a concept that seems to me to be a little vague in the minds of many Christians today. Yet, nevertheless, it strikes me as being a very important issue as it pertains to our lives as followers of our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. Anything that directly affects our relationship to God is of vital importance for a few very good reasons. First, as stated in the Westminster shorter catechism: “Man’s primary purpose is to glorify God and enjoy him forever.” We cannot glorify the Lord if we do not know what he wants us to do or how he wants us to live.
