Embodied knowledge is understanding the true meaning and purpose behind the movements expressed in dance. This aspect is a type of knowledge that can be used to observe a performance or create one's own dance. Dance is a type of art form that can be seen visually through interpretations and observing. As described in "Five Premises for a Culturally Sensitive Approach to Dance", Deidre Sklar stated how movement can show a story and/or an experience which reflects who the dancers are when performing a piece.
