Cole, I agree that people often forget who founded this great country and that this country believed in helping all immigrants. Written on a plaque, hung inside the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, you will find a sonnet, written by Emma Lazarus in 1883, here is an excerpt from that sonnet: "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearing to be free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden shore!" I am reminded of this and its meaning whenever I hear people talking about limiting the number of immigrants allowed into the country.
