Emma Watson is an Actress, a UN ambassador, and a feminist. With this background, she uses this to her advantage to persuade her audience viewers in her UN speech and launch of her campaign “HeForShe”. In her speech she is compelling, but in a yet plain and simple way that has a great impact on her pathos appeal. Emma Watson has her focus on her audience and on repetition to get her convincing point across She seeks to persuade us by saying gender equality should already exist in this society and because it doesn’t, she is trying to persuade the audience to help her act on it.

Emma Watson’s delivery of the speech is what ties the entire pathos package together. Her deliberate tone captures the attention and admiration of spectators. Despite being a young actress, she does a great job of sharing her wisdom, advice, and competence for others to see. She energizes the viewers with her smiles and you can tell in her voice that she has strong passion and her speech is a very emotional thing for her without showing weakness, which is really hard for people to do. “All I know is that I care about this problem, and I want to make it better.
