During this semester in English 120 class, I have grown and learned more about writing than I did in high school. I have learned here that college writing is way different than high school writing. I discovered that writing is not as easy as i thought it is back in high school. I have learned how to express myself more, how to think for myself, and how to find the answers to the things that I don't know through research and asking questions. I was introduced to new research ways and databases to get the right answers for my questions. I can see that in the difference between my Pre-Semester reading response and the revised version of it that I did at the end of the semester. I fixed my punctuation, and my grammar in some sentences. My understanding of the article and my interpretation have improved. I was able to make my revised version of the response a little bit better by what I’ve learned in class from punctuation worksheets to writing in-class essays. I was able to make a better summary of the article in my revision at the end of the semester after reading it critically and picking out what matters the most. Besides my revisions to the Pre-Semester Reading Response, I’m pretty satisfied with my writings in this portfolio, not my best yet but I’ve learned a lot. It was the first time for me to start on a research paper, never have done that in high school. At the beginning of the semester I didn’t really realize the difference between a research paper and an essay and I thought I would do good when we start working on it class. I gave in the first draft as an outline, I was so lost in my thoughts. I knew I want to say something about my topic but it was so hard to get specific and to know how to start. I sat on my own first to understand what I am supposed to offer in a research paper, read the MLA format that was given to me in class. Then I started reading 3 sources every other day to get a wide background about my topic
