The stars make me stop, and think. How did this come to be? The beach causes me to day dream and drift into a haze of wonder and awe. The trees in the forest stop me still. How can something so amazing just be here? Where did this come from? This is the mystery of God. How did He create the world and the beauty within? “The Entry of the Animals into Noah’s Ark,” by Jan Brueghel the Elder in 1613 is an image demonstrating the mystery of God. This painting has many different kinds of animals all together on a long journey to the ark. People use different methods, to reflect on God Himself, and His creations. Through meditation and relaxation, individuals can communicate to God without distractions or conflicting thoughts. Another method is prayer, “a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God.” (DEFINITION FROM GOOGLE) People need to take time themselves to speak with God and have faith and belief in their actions. Noah believed in the Lord, even when others doubted his actions. He was faithful and did as the Lord requested. Genesis 7:13-16 states, “Pairs of all creatures that have the breath of life in them came to Noah and entered the ark.” When the land was flooded, the whole of creation was no longer existent. When the floods cleared, the world was new, God had removed all evil. In Jan Brueghel the Elder’s artwork, the animals illustrated are moving towards the new world.
