Enzo Ferrari “What’s behind you doesn’t matter,” said Enzo Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari was a car maker and entrepreneur (a person who starts a business) who loved cars more than anyone else. Enzo Ferrari was the man who made the company “Ferrari” and built the Ferrari cars. He never gave up even when the going was tough. In the beginning Enzo Ferrari’s passion for driving and building cars began at a very young age. On February 18, 1898 Enzo Anselmo Ferrari was born in Modena, Italy. Enzo Ferrari was born on February 18 but his father wasn’t there so when he was there Enzo was already born. Even though, Enzo Ferrari was born on February 18, his father was there two days late and that’s when his name was on the birth certificate. When Enzo grew up, he had a passion for racing cars and building them. The 1908 Circuit Bologna got Enzo Ferrari inspired to race cars. He was an enormous car fan and went to more races after that. When Enzo Ferrari got older he became even more fond of engines and cars. In 1914 he wanted to teach other people how engines work, so he applied as a teacher at Lathe Operator School. He got the job. However, it was cut short because he got called to duty during World War I. He was signed to a third Alpine Artillery. In 1916 he got called home because of the Great Italian flu. Sadly, his father and brother died of it. Enzo caught the flu as well, so he was taken out of Italian services. Enzo came back to Italy, but not until he was older.
