An epilogue is the final part of the novel, and it gives a summary after the main parts in the novel. The epilogue gives an interesting conclusion for the readers, and it takes about the characters future. It would be better to read an epilogue in a novel because it gives a final explanation of events in the story which is impressive for the readers.

2. Why did David’s family survive while the extended family seems to self-destruct?
When Frank died, David's family wanted to leave Montana to forget about the problems in Montana. David's family could not tolerate and live with lies, secrets, and conflicts anymore in Montana. Thus, they left Bentrock , and they lived in Forgo with Gail's parents to have a new life there.
