Missoula Discussion One Missoula by Jon Krakauer is a compelling yet unnerving story of Allison Huguet, and the sexual assault epidemic at The University of Montana. Allison is a student, at Eastern Oregon University, who is assaulted while visiting her hometown of Missoula Montana. I like how this book not only tells Allison’s story, but told the story of many other girls in the same town. After introducing Allison the book later tells the stories of Kelsey Belnap, and Kerry Barrett. They were both raped in Missoula and both of their cases were brushed aside by the police department.
The novel Freak The Mighty By Rodman Philbrik is a realistic fiction story about two boys who are in middle school and become best friends. They go on crazy made up adventures. They each have a story to them like who they are today. There names are Max and Kevin. The book was published in 1993.
As Marie lived in their home for several days, she became sick and the only strength she had was to speak to the David's family. She couldn’t get out of bed knowing how ill she was. This is a man with multiple prestigious titles under his belt, yet continues to spend the majority of his time and energy in Haiti. Farmer strongly believes that healthcare shouldn’t be a privilege, it is a right that all human beings should have and this belief has brought him to places all around the world. His life’s work is to bring those rights into poverty stricken countries such as Haiti, and Rwanda. Although he is a doctor, his interest isn’t focused specifically on just medicine.

Montana 1948 by Larry Watson is told through the eyes of David who faces the disturbance that his own family has brought upon him. The Puebloans tolerated the Spanish who invaded their land and oppressed their people for almost more than eight decades. But what oppressions, distresses and circumstances lead to this revolt?
Endings, the final attempt the author has to capture the audience’s attention. An ending can leave us feeling satisfied or in complete disappointment. An ending has the power to help the reader fully comprehend the book and make sense of the theme a author is trying to display. In the novel The Road, McCarthy takes a different kind of approach in using the conclusion to help illuminate the overall theme and allow the reader to grasp what they have read. McCarthy devotes the novel to focusing on the aspects of relationships.
Night on Bald Mountain by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky (1867) was written in 1867 during the Romantic period. This orchestral tone poem was inspired by Nikolay Gogol’s short story “St. John’s Eve” which chronicles the witches’ pilgrim to Bald Mountain to await the arrival of their lord, Satan. Mussorgsky’s A Night on Bald Mountain is a very dark piece which uses several musical elements such as dramatic contrast of dynamics, pitch, chromatic harmonies and discords to create an exciting and twisted story. It is a beautiful work that depicts the style and characteristics of 19th century Romantic music.
