Ethan finds Logan sitting cross-legged in the front yard. The closest thing to the Boarding House is a four lane highway that's 500 meters north. Someone can’t hear the sounds of the racing cars unless they strain their ears. Logan has spent many hours listening to the familiar sounds that he would fall asleep to as a child. Ethan doesn’t say anything as he nears the boy; instead he quietly sits beside him. “They’ve finally figured out what happened to Eleanor,” Ethan says after a few quiet moments, but Logan doesn’t visibly react. Finally being allowed back inside, everyone stands in a little group, gossiping about what the doctors had said. Logan just pushes his way through until he’s standing in front of Eleanor’s door. Not knowing the valued rule of privacy, Logan pushes open the door without a second thought. Miss Taylor, along with other staff members, stand off to the side speaking with the doctor. Everyone looks tense and stressed. Patricia startles when Logan comes up right behind her. “Mr. Baker! Please knock next time you’d like to enter a room. I know you’re new here, but I assumed you'd at least know basic manners!” Patricia says, raising her voice with each word. Patricia’s outburst has drawn the attention of the others in the room and her ears turn pink when she realized that everyone is now looking at her. “My apologize.” ”Logan,” Miss Taylor says and, with a kind smile, makes her way over to the boy, “I’m glad that Ethan has found you. Eleanor isn't awake at the moment, but you're more than welcome to stay until she does. We were just about to move this conversation to the study anyways.” With a polite nod to the others, Miss Taylor leads everyone towards the door. It isn’t until everyone has left the room that Logan realizes that the man they were talking to wasn’t a doctor. With his crisp, classic black suit and shiny briefcase, that man was no doctor. Logan’s not sure why he was here, but whatever happened to Eleanor has now brought a lawyer into Miss Taylor’s Boarding
