Behind him, across vast distances of space and time, from the place he had left, he thought he heard music too. But perhaps it was only an echo. All of a sudden, Jonas spotted a tangled mass of yellow. Then, more colors appeared, blue and red, then green. Her green eyes were visible as Jonas sat in the bitterly cold snow with Gabriel nuzzled in his chest. He pulled Gabe closer, narrowing his eyes at the woman with bleeding yellow hair. “Your hair,” he murmured in astonishment, “Why is it bleeding?” The woman just laughed to herself and extended her hand towards the children. “Come with me, Jonas,” She offered kindly, “You’ll become ill if you don’t.” Jonas tentatively grasped her chubby hand and struggled to pull himself up. The trio quickly approached an object resembling a shed with wheels. “What is that?” Jonas croaked, sniffing and wiping his nose with the soft blanket. He couldn’t remember ever seeing an object like this in his old community. Jonas attempted to recover a memory containing the mobile shed, but all of his memories had vanished. Jonas frowned, remembering how he could not recall warmth either. But, he smiled upon realization that everyone in his old community now had the precious memories. Something about the woman seemed familiar, though. Jonas knew that he had seen her in his own lifetime and that comforted him. “It’s a car,” she explained “It’s like a bike, but powered by chemicals and it can hold more people.” Jonas reluctantly climbed into the blue ‘car’ and held Gabriel in his lap. New York was one of the surveillance sectors which watched different parts of C.A.N.A.D.A., an acronym for the area where Jonas, Gabriel, and Rosemary were born. But, the USA wasn’t the only agency watching C.A.N.A.D.A., there were many other agencies around the globe that were all watching C.A.N.A.D.A., a laboratory for trying out different societies. If anyone escaped from a society, it would automatically become a failure and everyone living there would be sent into isolation. Jonas didn’t hear her say that it was vital that others didn’t know of his mistake and was only brought out of his daydream when the slam of a door startled him. “Don’t look so frazzled, Jonas,” Rosemary said, smiling, “That’s my boyfriend, Hashton. He wouldn’t hurt a fly.” Soon enough, Hashton entered the room with his curly brown hair covering his bright green orbs. He looked at Jonas, then Gabe, then Rosemary before pulling her out of
