It is the truth that brings about emotions which causes confusion for example a myth that people believe is that Asians are smarter than any other minority group. The look at that the facts that Asian parents look after their kids and promote some sort of success. They are aware where their children are, who their friends, what they’re doing before and after school and how their progressing in school even if the parent is working 14 hours shifts. From that myth, some other think other minority groups just lack the fundamentals that state at ho has me. If the home fundamentals are not there unless they are mentally challenged, they have their own mind to make a choice of corrects or incorrect direction. The reason I spoke about that story because Dr. Ivan Van Sertima was not afraid to challenge what others tried to teach him he questioned their work. In education, today you will not hear anything about this story. Education is designed to tell a story the government wants the students to believe about every group in the world. It is many things that society celebrate in honor of education and it is celebrated in falsehood. We all have been victims of a gross miseducation which has produced various levels of mental slavery. Teachers, parents, and children must all do their part to try to set the record straight. Black History Month is always a good time to develop greater appreciation for the African contributions to world culture and civilization but that just a myth that it should be taught only once a year. Black History offers an excellent opportunity to relish and glorify the accomplishments of our ancestors but time should be set aside to make a careful assessment of the status of our youth. Personally, the problem is one of complacency. Many parents and adults are not fulfilling their obligations of their heritage by seeing to it that black history is preserved
