Throughout the plays I have read was Death of a Salesman and a Raisin in the Sun Willy and Walter have dreams about living freely. Death of a Salesman is about Willy and his family living the American Dream unrealized. A Raisin in the Sun is about a family who wanted to live an American life and Walter go through what is it to be a man. Both plays from Death of a Salesman and a Raisin in the Sun have these comparisons and differences in characters ,plots scenes and theme. In the play a Raisin in the Sun theme was “what it means to be an man?” It focus on Walter how the theme related to him. In the play Death of a Salesman theme was Willy fantasy going wild and when Lindy walked in Willy fantasy world ended. In the play it explain both characters similarities between Walter and Willy are hard worker provided for their family. In Death of a Salesman the main character Willy work in job to provided his family but in a Raisin in the Sun the main character Walter also work for his family but he has money issue and can’t decide who the money belong too. The character Willy always go to his fantasy world and trying to attempt suicide to escape reality.
