Agatha Christie – And Then There Were None Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None” is based off a poem, and the book tells a story about ten people, all convicted of a crime, receiving letters to come to a remote island to enjoy a nice week away. What they don’t know, is that it’s a trap, and one of the ten is a killer. According to the poem, ten little boys are all killed in very specific ways, until none of them are left. As each of them begin to die, they realize they are all being killed in the ways the poem describes in order. They also come to the horrible realization that the killer is one of them. He deceived everyone on the island into thinking he was on their side, using his knowledge of being a court justice to try and help decipher who the killer was. This is another example of where this story lacks morality. He deceived them and lied to them, making them think he was the least to suspect. He even faked his own death in front of the others that were still alive so he would be ruled out completely. And whenever he was suspected, he would turn it around on someone else, trying to cover his tracks. He even did this at the end of the story. He wanted to deceive everyone, making them think that what happened to those ten people on the island was a mystery. After the last person had died, he took a gun, with a napkin around his hand, so there wouldn’t be any fingerprints, and he took his own life. He took so many lives, only for him to take his own. What he did throughout the story was immoral to the highest extent. In the Bible, it also talks about deception and how “Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord...” (Proverbs 12:22) Injustice like this happens in our world daily, especially if they get away with it. But there is justice, because nothing gets past God. “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out” (Proverbs 10:9). He tells us in His Word that vengeance is His, that He will make right what has been wronged. So,
