Ernest Greenwood once said, “Accidents and particularly street and highway accidents, do not happen- they are caused.” Car accidents in the world are increasing every day and hundreds of people die in car accidents every week because of it. In fact, it is one of the leading causes of death among teenagers. Car accidents occur mostly due to negligent and reckless drivers on the road and they often don’t realize the consequences of their actions until it is too late. The consequences may not be the same for all drivers. While some may walk away with a small scratch on their car, some may end up with a totaled car and serious injuries. There are many factors that can lead to a fatal car accident, some of which are- distracted driving, speeding and car malfunction.

Car accidents due to vehicular malfunctions can be attributed to many things like manufacturing defects, faulty engineering, or improper care. A wide range of vehicular parts can malfunction which can cause an accident. For example, airbags are a very important part of a vehicle. These get inflated instantly to create a shield between the driver and the passengers, and any hard surface. But when it malfunctions, the airbag does not get inflated to protect the driver and the passengers. A malfunction in the seatbelt could lead to extreme loosening of the belt. This can be detrimental to the people inside the car as it can throw them out of the car when there is a collision. This could lead to serious injuries, or often instant death. A malfunction of the ignition switch can make a car suddenly immovable, while being driven, and cause multiple accidents. Tire blowouts can make the driver lose control of the car and result in the rollover of the vehicle, causing fatal injuries. Break failure leads to loss of control of the vehicle completely, leading to serious
