The conscious mind is that which represents the awake state that carries us to take on tasks throughout the day. Information always travels through the mind while we perform our daily tasks. We take in all forms of ideas through our experiences by the external environment, the body, the conscious mind, and the subconscious mind. I will be focusing on the first three parts that pertain to our conscious mind and interact with it, as the unconscious has already been covered.

It is a matter how our senses interpret the external environment that determines our experiences. Imagine a house set ablaze on fire as a sound example, the flames are rising; the smoke fills the air; people are gathering to talk among each other; there are sounds of fire trucks; you see the red lights coming; you see the glowing flames gaining power; and etc. These are all a crucial part of the senses that are gathering data from the event. We are awake in a state that is in full compliance to the situation. Magic also requires the uses of these five senses. Crowley wrote these are five magical senses, which are the senses stimulated from ancient religious rites to produce a desired effect. The priest would burn the incense, do his chants, sacrifice the bull, the people would feast, and it was a very enlightening experience for setting up a hypnotic state that was dedicated to the connection divine. Thus, the same still holds true in a modern sense of magic. In ritual we make visuals to be a symbol, burn incense in a censor, light a candle, use scented oils, and create a situation to symbolically represent something initially with the senses. Our body also learns from its reactions, such as when we are hungry our stomach grumbles or when we are sleepy we begin to feel tired. These physical conditions are equally as important as the five
