The United States of America has a higher crime rate as compared to other wealthy nations. It is common knowledge that America suffers a violence problem. The murder rate in the U.S. is up to six times higher than that of Japan and Germany. Both Japan and Germany have prosperous economies that resemble the one in America. Crime has always been greater in the urban areas as compared to the countryside. The trend is fairly consistent in almost every society. Crime increases as population increases. It is normal to expect St. Louis to have more crime than Missouri (Tjaden). Rich communities are also expected to have higher crime rates than the poor ones. However, none of these things explain the high crime rate in the U.S.

The law categorizes any sort of forceful penetration or to a person who is mentally incapacitated as sexual assault. The punishment depends on the age and crime nature. Having sex with a person below 13 years when you are over 17 is considered as rape. The cause for having a very high number of sexual assault cases in America cannot be linked to a precise cause.
Pedophilia is defined as having sexual fantasies that involve having sex with a child in a period of six months. A person suffering from pedophilia stands a high chance of abusing a child sexually. Pedophilia may be increasing as a result of having a society with many people who have been assaulted sexually when they were kids. There are various ways through which child abuse cases can be minimized. One way is through teaching kids how they can be lured so that they can avoid these ways (Hall). Children should be taught to avoid talking to strangers. Another way is to contact the guardian or the police when they are in danger. They should be taught how to use the telephone and describe their address at an early age. You should also screen the caretakers and those people that are close to the child to know the right people that can take care of children. These simple ways can help minimize child
