The society we live in is today is made up of the shed of blood, tears, and scars received for us to live in peace, but the foundation is built on deception. Deception has been integrated into our society to the point were it not uncommon to see within our daily life. According to dictionary.com deceive means “to mislead by a false appearance or statement”. Although the concept of deception often carries a negative stigma, it can be used for either good as much as bad purposes. The fundamental reason and motivation behind deceiving other people are what causes its intent. One major form of deception is the makeup industry for women. Their many conservatives surrounding woman body shaming. In the industry, they use Photoshop to create inaccurate body images for a woman to look up to. Although this deception is usually lying to the person, it usually to benefit the person overall. For example, parents often lie to young children. They feed them lies like if don’t eat your vegetables they won’t grow big. Or if a beloved animal passes away, the parents might lie saying it ran away to make the child feel better. These are examples of white lies people might use, so they don’t hurt someone feelings. There are many common examples of these white lies we use daily. A lie I often personally use is when I have to get somewhere, and my friends or family call to know where I am. I always say I am five minutes away, in reality, I haven’t even left the house. I use this lie too often so person waiting for me, doesn’t get mad or reinsure them I am close by. Another popular one is saying I remember a person, but I actually don’t. I play along so they don’t get hurt, and make them think I didn’t forget them.
