As the world turns, days go by; people invent some great and, at times not so great, contraptions. In 1937, the first digital computer was invented. Since then, digital devices have highly improved. Today we have several different types of digital devices that now have the ability to connect to the internet. These devices are more commonly managed by the younger generations who cling to and operate the device in different settings: triggering many debates. As an English student and internet abuser, witnessing the effects of managing devices during a lecture it has be questioned whether students should be granted to freely use digital devices inside the classroom? Even though various teachers support the impulsive use of digital devices in the class room, they would benefit from prohibiting it because the reckless use of digital devices in a classroom initiate several conflicts with education.
The use of digital devices has a considerable negative effect on a students’ academic performance due to being distracted. Students lose focus on their studies, which decreasing their grades. Students lose the chance to gain knowledge when they are in attentive. Some teachers allow laptops in class for note taking; however, most those students whom are supposed to be taking notes during the lecture can be caught with games, social media or inappropriate …show more content…

The cost of textbooks is outrageous, and using digital devices with accesses to the online material would benefit the
