The young woman laughed. Her flaming red hair glowed in the moon. She gazed lovingly into her husband's bright blue eyes. Down by the meadow two girls chased each other down a small hill. They laughed as they shared stories, secrets, and jokes. It was a perfect night, but it was the last night the little girl saw her mother, happy and healthy.
The next day they came, with swords and disease. The soldiers blazing red hair flung wildly in the wind. On their chests, laid a gleaming golden sun. They raided the villages taking riches, crops, and women. The king fought valiantly with his army, but with no avail.
