Espresso is the foundation and plays an important role for development of wide variety of specialty coffee drinks, such as the cappuccino. Sometimes, we also called it as “short black”. It is a strong black coffee made by forcing steam which brought almost to its boiling point through finely ground coffee beans at high pressure in an espresso machine. Traditionally, expresso is served in glass. For those who love expresso, they will feel that expresso is much thicker compared with other type of coffee. This is because of the ratio of water to ground coffee is much less than with typical brewed coffee. This is because expresso has higher concentration of dissolved and suspended solids which also increases the concentration of caffeine. Therefore, expresso can be taken with small teaspoon of sugar. It also known as a “traditional morning heart starter”. Basically, this hugely popular coffee drink was created to cater to people that liked cream in their coffee. A true cappuccino is a combination of equal parts espresso, steamed milk and milk froth. Cappucino always served in a preheated vitrified ceramic cup. It is common for barista to sprinkle some unsweetened cocoa powder on top layer of cappucino. Therefore, it becomes popular dessert nowadays due to its complex flavors and richness. For someone who want less milk than usual, we can request for dark (scuro) cappuccino. If we want more milk, than we can request light (chiaro) cappuccino.
A cappuccino is similar to a latte. However, there are some key difference between a latte and cappuccino. Cappuccino has more foam and chocolate placed on top of the drink but latte don’t have. Furthermore, a cappuccino is made in a cup rather than a tumbler glass.
