The first book I read was about a cat, his green eggs, and ham. I read it the same day I learned how to write in cursive. The book was Green Eggs and Ham; I thought it was the most amazing book in the world. It had really colorful pictures and lots of details in the picture. Every picture had colors and went along with the story. There weren’t a lot of words on each page, but the book repeated the same words, so it made it easier to read. When I think of the book, I do not only think about how I learned to read with this book, but it also brings back many childhood memories.
My favorite part about this book was when Sam kept saying, “I would not like them here or there. I wouldn’t like them anywhere. I do not like Green eggs and ham. I do not like the, Sam-I-am. I remember my mother reading this book to me and I would make her read that over and over again even though it was going to come again in the story. Once I got the hang of reading this book, I would read it several times during the day or night. I enjoyed that Dr. Seuss book so much that my mother brought me his whole collection of books. Once I got them all my room was filled with Dr. Seuss books, but I always came back to Green Eggs and Ham.

They started us off learning how to write in cursive so we could write some of our papers in cursive. After that I had to write stories, and do some free writing about anything. I even had to write a little book about what we wanted to be when we grew up. I wrote about becoming a hairstyles, but that all changed and I want to be a nurse. Then there were writing tests you have to take in order to pass to the next grade level. I enjoyed writing when I was in elementary school, and during some of my middle school days depending on the
