Problems The current method of gun-control is flawed profusely in the United States. Americans are given the right to purchase weapons under the 2nd Amendment which is the right to bear arms. The right to bear arms is for one’s own defense that should not be infringed or taken in any way. Weapons should only be used to protect oneself (defense mechanism.), police, forensic training, historical collection purposes and recreational activities such as hunting or target shooting. The killing of innocent human beings on the mainland or home front is not up for questioning by policy law makers. Yes, police carry weapons for his or her job but it is not okay for any individual to kill someone intentionally or by the mass murders. Activist and gun law makers need to have practical, clear, and concise rules that are put in place to protect the people and increase stiffer regulations for guns. The United States should not have certain high-powered weapons, assault weapons, and or semi-automatic guns so readily available to the public. When someone purchases this kind of weapon or weapons from any gun carrier that their name should be placed and flagged in a national database (for all states). They should also have a longer hold when it comes to purchasing guns and increase background checks. Once they have purchased the weapons the person should be on summons to be randomly tested. They should be tested for psychological evaluations and assessed of their sensitivity to other people (remove deep barriers of bias) periodically in their local area with trained personnel. Anyone who purchases a weapon should be mandated to take regular educational training on weapon safety and conflict
