Gun violence is one of the major problems U.S. is constantly battling against, and it occurs mostly throughout 3 separate regions like the West Coast, the Central, and the East Coast. There are factors that can cause gun violence such as drugs, gangs, no/low income and education, and even corrupt law enforcers. Because of gun violence, it affects people’s moral, freedom, and worst news reporters thrive on reporting gun violence, which makes it worse within the community. Throughout the American history, there are various cases of gun violence being involved. For instance, the Florida school shooting, involving Nikolas Cruz as an active shooter, caused an outrage within the community, in which students all over United States are pressuring lawmakers to make it harder for people to own a weapon. Perhaps, abolishing to own a weapon is not possible because of the 2nd Amendment. However, imposing stricter requirements from gun stores will mitigate owning non-authorized purchaser or own a weapon. This is why concealed carry was put in place. People believe that having a CCW in public will give them a sense of security within a split decision making, in the event that someone’s life is in grave danger. It also promotes citizens to stay vigilant and the keen in situational awareness. Finally, people owning CCW within the community will make criminals think twice before committing crimes. In addition, these reasons apply to Bernard Gert’s moral rules: Don’t deprive of Freedom or Opportunity, and Don’t Deceive.
