What makes someone a good artist or a good leader or a good athlete? Why do some people accomplish their goals while others fail?
What makes the difference?
Usually we answer these questions by talking about the talent of top performers or their physical abilities and even focus on their talent. However, surely we all know there is more to the answer than that.
In fact, when you start looking into it, your talent and your intelligence don't play nearly as big of a role as you might think. The research studies have found that intelligence only accounts for 30% of your achievement — and that's at the extreme upper end.

Motivation is fickle. Willpower comes and goes. Willpower and inner strength are vital skills, necessary for carrying out tasks, chores and decisions and for the achievement of goals. Without them, it is difficult to start anything, and difficult to get to the finish line of what you started.
Mental strength is the ability to make decisions and choices and stick with them. The great thing about mental toughness is that we are not born with it. We don’t have to learn it at a young age. Mental toughness comes simply from the decision to consistently apply. We can start today and reach levels of our game, relationships, and success that we never thought possible.
Mental endurance does not mean passivity or suffering; it means mental strength. It is the ability to exercise inner strength, and the ability to deal effectively with all challenges.
