Like any other job the higher the education the better opportunities. Having some experience in form of an internship is a good way to start. “If you have knowledge of a second or third language apart from English, you have an upper hand working in places such as California, where most clients may not speak English as their first language (“A Blueprint on How to Become an Immigration Paralegal” n.d)”. I believe I would have an upper hand in this field because I’m diverse in more than one language and I’m also open to learning many more different languages if required. It’s also an interesting job to me because although I’m shy at first, I’m easy to talk to and firm at the same time. I enjoy investigating facts, performing research, writing, and working with people thus making me more marketable for the position. Some of the skills required in this type of field include; critical thinking, time management, writing, active listening, negotiations, persuasions. The reason for having good critical thinking is to encourage using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
