I have been deeply interested in the idea of karma and reincarnation for a long while. The concept that actions incur penalties in life is known as karma which, according to the American Heritage Dictionary, is considered as the "total effect of a person 's actions and conduct during the successive phrases of the person 's existence, regarded as determining the person 's destiny." For Buddhists, if a person does a good act in life, it is believed that good reactions will follow, and the opposite applies for bad actions. By understanding this idea and trying to live a life ruled by the rules of karma, one can attain a life filled with contentment. It is hard to explain the idea of consciousness as till now there is no any scientific explanation, unlike the function of human body and the involvement of cells, the way we think is still abstract. However, some religions like Christianity and Judaism they refer our consciousness to the creator the supreme power, who created this whole universe that we live in, from the planets to the sun which gives warm to earth, stars, valleys, lakes, rivers, plains, mountains and the living creatures. So it is assumed that consciousness is created and thus never questioned. Since creation and science is after explaining the origin of life. Since then and science is able to discover how life evolved till today. Myths about creation has been approved and explained others were disproved. However, consciousness has never been explained neither by science nor by religion. In brief, for them consciousness passes form one life to the next through the continuous cycle of reincarnation.
