Kidney cancer
Kidney cancer, also called as renal cancer is a disorder in which the kidney cells grow out of control, thus becoming malignant and forming a tumor. These are initially formed in the lining of the tubules of the kidney. This type of kidney cancer is called Renal Cell Carcinoma.

Daniel Sennert made the first reference suggesting a tumour arising in the kidney in his text PracticaeMedicinae, first published in 1613. Mirilpublished the earliest unequivocal case of renal carcinoma in 1810. Koenig published the first classification of renal tumours based on macroscopic morphology in 1826.

Surgery for kidney cancer
The treatment of cancer depends on which stage of kidney cancer the patient is diagnosed with. The surgeries are as follows:
• Radical nephrectomy removes the kidney, adrenal gland, and surrounding tissue. It also often removes nearby lymph nodes. It is the most common surgery for kidney cancer and can now be done through a small incision with a laparoscope.

• Simple nephrectomy removes the kidney only.

• Partial nephrectomy removes the cancer in the kidney along with some tissue around it. This procedure is used for patients with smaller tumors (less than 4 cm) or in those patients in which a radical nephrectomy might hurt the other
