Most people haven’t heard of the importance of underwater archeology. But, most people who are affected like family members, scientists, and the general public, have definitely heard of it! ROVs have made a very big impact on our history and environment. ROVs have been around for almost 60 years. They became essential around 1955 to 1960 according to RovMarine technologies. Almost all of the companies that have used ROVs have found new information. When using ROVs people have found artifacts, historic information and many other items that are helpful to our environment and history. But there is another side to the story, some people say that ROVs are absolutely NOT valuable for underwater research. However, ROVs are ABSOLUTELY valuable to underwater research because they help historians learn about the shipwrecks that have happened in the past, they can fit into small places underwater to look for even more artifacts, and finally, when scientists use the big ROVs they find ancient shipwrecks almost immediately. Which side are you on? ROVs are completely and absolutely valuable. They help historians learn about past shipwrecks, They can fit into places people can't and also go deeper in the ocean than humans. While finding all those artifacts in the ocean, historians and archaeologists have learned about why the oceans sunk, what happened to them, and finding items to help them learn about what was happening and what happened in the past. ROVs can be helpful to our environment. They help us get unhealthy items off of the sea floor and out of our oceans. As I said before, there are many people who say the ROVs are worth our time.
