In the number of people attending in sports are becoming higher. Therefore, more and more people get injuries each year. "More than 3.5 million children ages 14 and younger get hurt annually playing sports”, according to the National SAFE KIDS Campaign Basketball (2006), a sport requires a lot of collision, of course, is one of the sports that have the highest rate. “More than 170.000 children ages 5 to 14 were treated in the hospital emergency rooms for basketball-related injuries”, also stated NSKC (2014). About 2 years ago, when I was attending in a basketball final, I broke my ankle while jumping as the opponent push me off-balanced. At that moment, I lay immovable on the ground and cannot stand or even talk. Teammate lifted me out with a bump on my ankle. I went to see the doctor and I had to wear ankle bandage for 3 months. That is just a small example of mine. Some other severe situation, people even fall into unconsciousness condition or die. Smith AM, Scott SG and Wiese DM (2016, p.2) experienced that these injuries can cause mood disturbance, self-esteem and problem of focusing. Indeed, the pain in my hand wrist prevents me from concentrating in anything, and sometimes I get frustrated only because my hand hurts consistently. I felt sad, and I was losing faith. I even thought that I did not deserve to eat. That time, however, passed when the injury was treated.
3. Conclusion
The above analysis has shown that getting injury in sport is a greatly popular issue. As a result, these injuries lead to disorganization in various aspects of life. However, this certainly does not mean you should avoid sports because the health benefits far outweigh the cost in terms of sports injuries. Instead, well preparation should be done before starting to play basketball or any other sport. Additionally, it’s high time to raise the knowledge about injury and the way to prevent it not only to young players but also to the players of all
