The story shows us the true power of technology is destroying humans ability to connect, producing screen addictions, and is taking a toll on teens mental health. Terrified by the realness of the Veldt and its features, Lydia and George run out and slam the door behind them. “Lock that Nursery,” said Lydia, “You know how difficult Peter is about that, the tantrum he threw! Imagine someone so distressed and busy that they needed to deflect the worries in their brain for just a few minutes and sit down and start scrolling on social media. These minutes turn into hours and suddenly you're more stressed than you were before you sat down. This is not a healthy thing that social media contributes to. Stricter limits need to be put in place so that people can allow themselves to enjoy other activities and lessen screen addictions. Too much of anything is never a good thing.
