To Kill a Mockingbird one of my all time favorite novel. I have been in love with this book for a long time and I cannot wait to read its sequel, Go Set a Watchman, both by Harper Lee. Some topics in this book are not meant for kids, but I would say if you are 13 and older it would be fine. The story is definitely on my top ten reads. I read this book a while ago, but I it was one of my favorite all-time classics so I wanted to share it with you. If you like this book, don’t forget to comment about it and tell me what you liked about it! The story takes place from the time Scout was 6, but she tells the story as an adult. During the course of the book, Scout encounters surprising events that make her understand human nature, societal expectations, and her own place in the world. There are three scenes in this book which I love. The first one is when Jem sees a rabid dog and freaks out. He is terrified of the dog’s gnarly, ruby eyes and the way it limps around. He hides in his house before the dog can attack him. Luckily, his father, Atticus Finch shoots the dog down. Jem stares at his dad with utter surprise, bewildered that his dad, who is a lawyer, can shoot a dog! This scene was very funny in the book, since most people recognize Atticus Finch as a proper and formal man, and not a wild dog shooter. …show more content…
