Things change. It is unavoidable. If people think something's gonna stay the same just because they think it is, they are gonna be very disappointed. Change is inevitable, especially when it comes to moving territories or expanding territories. The western expansion is an example of things changing. The Natives living out west of what is the U.S today probably thought they were gonna stay where they were. Until the U.S came in and started slowly pushing them off. They were either conquered or forced out. This also can relate to Chicago gang violence today. Similar to the land that was taken over from the Natives, gangs also take over territories. America's expansion took many years until it was completely controlled by one country. Although, Chicago expand it still relates to this, territory wise. This is neighborhood wise though not like western expansion. They use violence to get territories so they can become dominant, exactly like the U.S did. Chicago is known for it’s violence and a lot of this violence is between gang over territories.
