America my home and my country, known for one of the best armies in the world. In the Revolutionary War America defeated the British, the most powerful known army to humanity. The Revolutionary War could be considered by some, to be the most important war in the world. This is because the result of it was united independent states. America had a very small army, but they had a few tricks up their sleeves to defeat the British. After the Americans defeat to the British under General Burgoyne they challenged the British one more time at Bemis Heights. When the Americans won this battle the British surrendered and that caught the French’s attention. The French offered to be allies with the Americans and provided them with monetary and military support. With the battle of Saratoga the Americans gained an ally that helped them win the Revolutionary War. Transition Thirdly, the battle at Trenton arguably had the best American commander and general leading the army, one leader was future first president George Washington. With the best leaders, the Americans had the advantage due to the commands and tactics they made. General George Washington made the choice to attack the Hessians the day after Christmas day with the idea most of the soldiers would have a hangover. This plan worked thanks to General George Washington and gained the Americans 1000 new highly skilled marksman. This attack also gained the Americans food that could supply them the next three months and guns and ammunition. Another example of why George Washington led the Americans to victory is because he had a trait of perseverance. Although some battles were lost Washington never surrendered his army.
