In the show “Real sports”, Bryan Gumbel investigates cases we have today in sports. A lot of the things we see on TV related to sports, do not really cover the news involving players. Real sports showcased 3 cases involving the murder of Cherica Adams, Women in sports broadcasting, and Tatiana McFadden in the Olympics. There are a lot of things that go on in the sports industry that we don’t hear about often. These cases show what goes on behind the scenes and allow us to see more into the lives of those in the sports industry. The first case was over Cherica Adams; a girlfriend of a formal NFL player, Rae Carruth. Cherica had been pregnant with Rae’s baby for 8 months, which Rae had not been prepared for. He had hired a man named Van Brett Watkins who had shot her multiple times. Watkins left the scene immediately, which left Cherica desperately calling 911. She was then rushed to the hospital under critical care. Her baby was delivered once she arrived and was denied oxygen for 1 hour which led to brain damage in her son’s brain. When Cherica woke up the next morning after the incident she was able to write a note telling the police what happened. Shortly after, Cherica had gone into a coma for 28 days before eventually dying. …show more content…

Women broadcasters feel like they have to look attractive or have to act a certain way to gain the male audience’s approval. Former broadcasters say they should avoid focusing on their own attractiveness to gain popularity in the industry since beauty isn’t going to last forever. For example, Melissa Wilson felt as if it was hard to be a female broadcaster because there was a lot of maintenance to it. On the other hand, a reporter for fox named Charissa Thompson, likes to use these “techniques” to her advantage. By “flirting” and using her attractiveness it leads to more personal and interesting interviews with
