The book Mockingbird is about a girl named Caitlin Smith, she has Autism. She likes things that repeat and she shakes her hands really fast when shes exited. She is in grade 6. Caitlin’s brother died in a school shooting and her best friend michel, his mom died in the same shooting. She lives with only her dad because her mom died. She hates recess because she has nothing to do. Caitlin and michael are trying to find closure will they find it? The theme/message of Mockingbird is that you can do anything even though you have a type of autism. I have learned that anyone can have autism so don’t treat people differently.
