For years you’ve been taking care of your mom who has been in the hospital , you’ve had to see her suffer. You hate seeing it,but what else could you do except legally allow her to end her life. In the novel Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck Lennie kills Curley’s wife and Curley wants revenge. George had to make the decision to either let Lennie suffer through Curley’s way of killing him or allow him to do it himself. George wants Lennie to die in a peaceful way, and that’s just what mercy-killing is. It’s where you’re allowing someone you love and care for to pass away painlessly so they don’t have to suffer anymore.

It supports my argument because its saying how it’s not stressed at all for everybody and it’s less sad because you’re doing it for a thoughtful reason and you’re the one who’s making the decision. It supports my argument because it’s saying that their letting someone pass on because there is no cure for their illness so they would have no other way of living for much longer so they would end up passing away soon in any case. What you can conclude from that is that it can happen in reality and not just in a book that someone wrote, real people have been there. They agree it’s the right thing to do, others think
