For years you’ve been taking care of your mom who has been in the hospital , you’ve had to see her suffer. You hate seeing it,but what else could you do except legally allow her to end her life. In the novel Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck Lennie kills Curley’s wife and Curley wants revenge. George had to make the decision to either let Lennie suffer through Curley’s way of killing him or allow him to do it himself. George wants Lennie to die in a peaceful way, and that’s just what mercy-killing is. It’s where you’re allowing someone you love and care for to pass away painlessly so they don’t have to suffer anymore.
