There is general consensus on the priority value of the right to life, that constitute the material condition of possibility of all others, has certain "privileges". Apart from any moral conviction, the human person is unarguably the hardware of all rights as human life is intrinsically valuable commodity, notwithstanding the right to life conflicts with the right to die with dignity. One of the most notorious cases involving euthanasia was the French Chantal Sebire, whose case has relaunched the debate on euthanasia in France after asking to justice the right to die with dignity. The woman, suffering from an incurable tumor that caused him excruciating pain, was found dead at his home two days after a court denied his request that he practiced active euthanasia (Samuel, 2008).
What we can conclude is that there are different opinions for and against euthanasia, something similar happens with the issue of abortion.
