Many individuals have certain work values that help them excel more than others, and that’s what makes one different and unique from one another. Having certain work values can determine a lot, it can determine what kind of person some one is and what interests them the most. The work values that I ranked the highest on Prioritizing Your Values, assessment were being prestigious, having self expression, interest, high achievement, commitment/ work ethnic. I will use the values that I scored the highest on the assessment to the best of my ability to reach my goal. Incorporating these values will help me reach my goal, by applying them into my daily life at work when I become a registered nurse in the future. Having interest has a huge impact on me wanting to reach my goal in becoming a registered nurse, it will help me reach my goal because I will be more dedicated and more likely to become one, I will be at my best knowing I’m fully engaged and interested. A career in nursing does match my values. All my values such being prestigious, having commitment with patients, working together as a team, acquiring new knowledge and always being on top of things will be beneficial to my nursing career, because that’s what it takes to be a registered nurse along with many more qualities. My values will help me be the best registered nurse I could possibly be. The nursing setting that matches my values and interests would be in a hospital in my community, in the critical care department. I’m very interested in the critical care department in the hospitals, because in that department there’s more diversity of patients.
