The teacher will talk about evaporation, condensation,and precipitation. When providing the definitions have the students relate them to what happened with the crock pot.
Then as a class we will learn a simple song about the water cycle. When learning this it will be written on chart paper, so students can look at the words.

The teacher will talk about how water evaporates from the oceans and puddles into the sky. Then the when clouds form and fill up it precipitates.
Students will be in group. Each group will have a tub, sponge and cup of water.
The students will dump the water in the tube, then with the sponge pick up the water. When the sponge is full squeeze the sponge.
After each of the groups repeated this a couple of times talk about what is happening to the water.
After the students finish going through the water cycle with a song, the teacher will pose the question: Why is the water cycle important?
Have students discuss with partners and have them come up with a few example of why the water cycle is important. While discussing have them think of times they have seen the water cycle happen.
After the discussion is coming to an end the teacher will talk about how the water cycle is important to the environment because it provides animals and plants constant water to survive.
The students will work in groups and create their own version of the water cycle on chart
