In the story “What is cultural identity” it states that it is “A broader term for people with multiple ethnic background my identify as belonging to the same culture”( ). This quote help enhance what people go through everyday life expressing their culture without being judged by other people in their. After reading several documents that all of the story fit all together in a certain way.
Everyone knows food contributes to everyone’s cultural identity in the the way it affects everyone's in ordinary life. From one source named “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker, she explains Dee (wangero) the quote explains, “Wangero,went on through the chitlins, and cornbread, the greens,and everything else”(walker26). It show how Dee from “Everyday use” she uses food to express her own heritage and culture. Another possibility that everybody is affected by their culture with the way they eat in their culture. As one quote explains that “He didn’t eat the collards and pork was unclean”(walker24). It shows that senses he is from a different culture and religion he could not eat the same foods as them.
