Federalism

Government system is a fundamental need for each country to have. It is a series of political institutions used to organize a state to enforce power over a political community. There are lots of type of government system, one of them is federalism. There are three distinct periods in the evolution of federalism which are dual federalism (1789 – 1945), cooperative federalism (1945-1969) and the new federalism (1969 – Present). Basically, federalism is a system of government in which power is divided, by a constitution, between a central government and regional governments. Country who adopts federalism has states in which the national government shares power with those states as the lower levels of government. Federalism has basic constitutional structure covered division of powers, bicameralism, intergovernmental relation, and constitutional change. …show more content…

The United States had proclaimed itself as "The Land of the Free", long time ago. The spirit of freedom of the United States stated in the declaration of independence of the United States when it declared itself separate from the Imperial Great Britain in 1776. It states that "All men created equal" as the right to life, to feel the freedom and to pursuit the happiness. Zest for life, experience the freedom and the pursuit of happiness that are then underlies ideas like "All human beings are equal, the only difference being the way they live their life." The United States, with this spirit, then decided to embrace federalism as a political system to unite the territories under his
